Young Musicians

The Nash Ensemble creates opportunities for young performers to work alongside its musicians through workshops, coaching and collaborative projects. These encounters offer first-hand experience of the detail, communication and shared understanding behind chamber music at the highest level.

The Nash Ensemble has a long-standing commitment to supporting the next generation of chamber musicians, creating opportunities for young performers to work alongside members of the Ensemble and experience at first hand the demands and rewards of professional chamber music.

Through workshops, coaching and collaborative projects, young musicians have the opportunity to rehearse and perform alongside The Nash Ensemble members, working closely with some of the UK’s most experienced chamber musicians. These encounters offer a practical insight into the detail, communication and collaborative skills that underpin chamber music at the highest level.

Just as importantly, working alongside established musicians provides an opportunity to talk openly about life as a professional chamber musician: from developing an individual voice as a performer to building ensembles, navigating a career and sustaining a creative life in music.

The Nash Ensemble is currently developing this work further, creating more opportunities for young musicians to learn, collaborate and gain first-hand experience of professional chamber music.
